ETX Texas teacher accused of sexting student

KEMP - A Kemp ISD teacher and coach has been arrested; accused of sending inappropriate messages to a female student while employed at Yale ISD in Oklahoma.
Joseph Kolt Palmer, Coach and teacher at Kemp Junior High, was taken into custody by Texas authorities and booked into the Kaufman County Jail Wednesday.
Kemp ISD is working with local authorities at this time.
Kemp ISD Superintendent Phil Edwards issued the following statement:
"Kemp ISD thoroughly screened the employee in question prior to hiring him - as we check all our employees - and found his record to be clear based on information available at the time. That employee is now on administrative leave as we continue the process of concluding our investigation and further administrative action." Kemp ISD stated. "Student safety is and will remain an issue of paramount concern at Kemp ISD."
Palmer has been charged with engaging in sexual communication with minor by use of technology. He has been placed on a $10,000 bond.
