TYLER - Tyler’s newest attraction is scheduled to open on Thursday. Times Square Grand Slam will debut its new arcade on the same day as the new Star Wars movie premiere.
What was once the Times Square Cinema is now becoming an entire entertainment complex.
Although the movie theater remains, an arcade has been added and owner Howard Chaba tells us this is just the beginning of the renovations.
"There's going to be a lot of other games coming in,” said Chaba. “Right now, these are mostly geared for the arcade but there's going to be a bunch of redemption games."
By the time the project is finished, the complex will include laser tag, a restaurant and a bowling alley.
"We're building the bowling lanes, working on the laser tag, restaurant and arcade area down in that area," said Chaba.
This will be the first entertainment complex in East Texas that will house both a bowling alley and laser tag.
"We've got 16 regular bowling lanes and we'll have 6 boutique lanes with the lounge area and a bar and we'll also have part rooms set up," said Chaba.
As for the restaurant, Chaba told CBS19 that the menu will feature gourmet items.
"You'll want to come here just to eat,” said Chaba. “Even if you don't have time to do the rest of it. The food will be that good."
Chaba said his main goal is to provide East Texas families with a fun-filled experience without breaking the bank.
"I want families to enjoy and afford getting to do this."
