OVERTON - According to the Smith County Commisioners Court, Chris Perkins has been named Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent of Agriculture and Natural Resources for the county.
Perkins graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, earning his Master of Science Degree at Texas Tech University.
Shelia Harris, District Extension Administrator, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Overton said Perkins, "will be a great asset to the county and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service."
The Smith County Extension Office is a part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and an agency of the Texas A&M University System.
University resources are extended to area locals through local extension programs by providing practical information and education in the four areas of agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer services.
