The failure of the Senate healthcare bill had East Texans like Brandy Jackson reacting on Saturday.
“I work in Tyler as a nurse. I think a change in healthcare is definitely needed,” Jackson said.
Last week, she said she took her son to an urgent care center and that without insurance, the trip would have been unaffordable.
“Without insurance, your bill is $719 and that’s crazy,” Jackson said.
That is why she and others like Ryan McAllister said that they believe changes need to be made.
“We all want what is best for everybody,” McAllister said.
However, he noted that covering every single person may not be possible.
“At the same time, expecting that to happen for everyone across the board is dang near impossible,” McAllister said.
Speaking on the floor of the House on Friday, U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert said that he hopes his colleagues in the Senate “will keep their promise to the American people by repealing Obamacare.”
