Flint-Gresham volunteer firefighter dismissed after DWI

Firefighter blames PTSD for DWI charges

FLINT-GRESHAM – Former volunteer firefighter Blake Stansbury was arrested for a DWI while driving a vehicle owned by the fire department. The arrest occurred in Whitehouse on Oct. 2.
Keith Tate, a spokesperson with the Flint-Gresham volunteer fire department said Stansbury was immediately suspended the night of the arrest and subsequently dismissed.
Tate said the vehicle had damage, but Stansbury was pulled over because of erratic diving.
Stansbury was charged with another DWI in 2007, Tate said he was not aware. The charge came three months after the former volunteer joined the department.
CBS 19 has attempted to contact Chief Tim Stone but has not heard back. More information will be released as it becomes available.
