Fugitive outed by Longview homeowners

LONGVIEW - Longview homeowners helped police officers find a fugitive after he fled from a nearby disturbance on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a disturbance call  in the 500 block of Birdie Place late Wednesday night and found one of the suspects, 20-year-old Stefan Omar Pentecost, had an outstanding warrant.

Pentecost fled the scene and led officers on a foot chase through the house, across a creek and, according to the homeowners, into their house in the 700 block of Lane Wells. Officers found and arrested Pentecost in the home, and the homeowners found the gun in one of the bedrooms. The gun was reported stolen.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Pentecost was taken to the Gregg County jail and charged with theft of a firearm and evading arrest/detention. He remains in jail on bonds totaling $30,500.
