Hawkins ISD head coach Scott Evans and a game official have filed incident reporters with the UIL after an on-the-field fight following a Hawkins-Cushing football game last Friday.
Evans alleges that one of his coaches was “head-butted” after he approached a member of the Cushing football staff after the game.
However, Cushing Superintendent Michael Davis said that he is prepared to defend his coaching staff during the hearing.
“Just because someone has a vantage point, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s accurate,” Davis said.
Mobile phone footage captured the altercation from the stands.
A separate report filed by a game referee on the field said that he witnessed several players on both teams engaged in fighting.
Hawkins Superintendent Morris Lyon did not make any additional comments on the matter this afternoon.
The UIL hearing will be held Tuesday in Austin.
