Kilgore home destroyed by fire belonged to missing pregnant woman

A fire destroyed a Kilgore home that was later confirmed to be owned by a pregnant woman missing since August 20.

KILGORE - A Kilgore home that burned to the ground on Sept. 19 belonged to the pregnant woman missing since August 20 and her sister.

Kilgore and Sabine fire departments were called to the 700 Block of Martin Luther King Street on Sept. 18 to house already engulfed, according to a Kilgore Police Department Facebook post:

According to a separate post, no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

CBS19 did confirm with family member Sheaira Grant that the home belonged to both her and her sister, Sheryia. Sheryia has been missing since August 20. She was pregnant at the time she went missing, and her due date has already passed with no word on her whereabouts.

The incident is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet confirmed how the fire started.
