TYLER - Liberty Hall presents “A Night of Jazz” featuring George Faber and friends on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m.
Faber’s musical career is rich, diverse and continues to evolve at every turn. From his first days of piano recitals in Kilgore, to playing with groups at Stephen F. Austin State University, Lincoln Center in New York City, the Great Wall of China and beyond, the music of George Faber has captivated audiences all over the world.
Faber is “well known and highly respected for his skills as a keyboardist, bass player, producer, arranger and innovative arts educator.”
During the early 80's, he toured with the group Sunshine Express and also worked for Disney.
Performing along with Faber will be Gary Freeman.
Freeman is a concert and recording artist who has toured and performed with Van Morrison, Bill Withers, Kirk Walem, Tom Scott, Andy Williams and Tony Orlando. He is currently Music Director for Prince Ivan: a new Rhythm and Blues group based out of Branson, Missouri. His style is contemporary jazz, featuring renditions of popular music from the 70’s and 80’s, as well as current hits.
Joining Freeman will be the members of Señor Gringo.
Señor Gringo was formed many years ago and as time has passed, the band has blended into the rich culture of Latin jazz. These musicians come from a variety of musical backgrounds and influences. Together, their sound is a blend of Latin jazz that will sooth the soul.
Tickets are $18 online and $20 at the door (starting at 7 p.m.). VIP Boxes are $125 and seat four.
