Kids from across East Texas made their way to the Broughton Recreation Center in Longview to hunt for Easter eggs.
"I got eight eggs full of candy. This is one of my favorite times of the year because we get to look for eggs," Six Year Old Gabby Rhodes said.
The event was sponsored by local non-profit Sassi Longview. Organizers tell me the group provides uplifting events for families. Other non profits such as the Boys and Girls Club of Longview also attended the event. They promoted upcoming activities for kids.
"Events like this bring the community together and help parents take a break.", Mother Jessica Reaves said.
During the hunt, some eggs contained raffle tickets for special prizes. A parent tells us, she is thankful the non-profit organization hosted a fun and kid friendly event.
