LONGVIEW - The Junior League of Longview hosted their annual Back to School Supply Train.
Each student received a backpack with supplies designed for their grade level. Parents were also able to get free school clothes and shoes for their kids.
Volunteers tell us this event is a way to give back to the community. Event Chair Stephanie Tate says this event brings excitement to East Texas.
“Families arrived at the door around 4:30AM this morning, we are happy to help their children start the new school year,” Tate said.
Today's event also featured free haircuts, dental and vision care for the kids.
Many parents tell us how grateful they are for the event. Helping to save them hundreds of dollars on school supplies and medical checkups.
