Neiman Marcus Christmas fantasy items

Neiman Marcus fantasy item breakdown

The Neiman Marcus Christmas book has arrived!

It's a holiday shopping guide offering a range of items and experiences. One of the most talked about sections of the book is its "Fantasy Gifts," which consists of some pretty expensive and outrageous items.

There's items many people dream about and think they might not be able to afford.

But where there is a will, there's a way!

Take the most expensive fantasy on the list: A New York, New Years Eve experience at the Knickerbocker hotel in Times Square. It's for you and 299 friends and it's $1.6 million.

Think about that for a second. Take the $1.6 million and divide it by 300. You end up with a little over $5,300/person. That's probably close to what you would spend on that type of experience in the first place if you booked it yourself, but you might be stuck in the crowd down below. This way you are on a roof experiencing the ball drop in a way many people don't.

Now, you might be thinking, you might not know 300 people, but not all of them are friends. Start a Facebook group, reach out on Craigslist, or some other cite that has a wide reach and invite some friends. Then have them invite friends and so on and so forth. If you don't know them, who cares! There's no way you're going to have time to hang out with all 299 people on the trip anyway.

Let's go to another item. The trip to Champagne, France where you and 3 others travel to Paris, staying in a Rosewood hotel and eating a 12-course meal at L'Ecrin. That's a perfect evening by itself. But, it doesn't stop there.

The point of the trip is a Champagne experience with Armand de Brignac, where you will help create your own cuvée. Next, a helicopter flyover of Champagne before staying the night in a chateau.

The cost of this is $150,000, which can be split 4 ways. But, that's still pricey. I also forgot the best part. While waiting for the cuvée you helped create, 60 bottles of the 5 champagnes will be delivered for you to enjoy until 24 bottles of your personal cuvée are finished. That's 84 bottles total.

The cheapest I found an Armand de Brignac online was for $499. Most were more than that! If your friends and family want to pitch in and buy a few off you, that will cut the cost of it down even more! Of course, you're still paying the bulk of it since you are the one traveling and getting this V.I.P. experience.

Of course, we can't forget about the kiddos. This fantasy package is less expensive than most at $8,000. For this price you receive a years worth of Madame Alexander dolls - plus - a Kidkraft's Grand Anniversary dollhouse.

In time for Christmas, the dollhouse and 8 dolls will arrive. For the following 11 months dolls will be delivered as well, and for the grand finale, a customized doll just for your child.

If purchased for your kid, they will collaborate with a Madame Alexander designer to create a doll that looks like whatever they want. It could even be a mini me!

With so many dolls arriving multiple families could go in on this together, with the family who keeps the dollhouse paying a bit more than the others.

Part of the Neiman Marcus Christmas book is the fantasy of being bale to afford all of the items and experiences, even if you believe this takes away from some of the "fantasy" aspect, it's a way to still experience a little taste of it.
