LONGVIEW - Three ladies founded this place with the idea of 'helping those who are hungry and hurting'. Ruby Canida and Idean Dade passed away, leaving Johnnie Johnson to take on the mantle of responsibilities. Johnson devotes her life in assisting hundred of people to get back on their feet.
"My middle name is service," Johnson said. "It doesn't feel like it's been 30 years."
The Outreach Mission provides food and clothes. Occasionally they will help pay utilities. Johnson said she wants to do more for the city, but the space they have is limiting.
"We're growing and since we're growing we want to expand," Johnson said.
Johnson hopes to make that transition by June of 2017.
