Children Are A Gift: Brent

Children Are A Gift: Brent

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - He's a happy boy but needs a loving family. Brent usually has a smile on his face, but he'd be beaming from ear-to-ear if he could find his forever family.

He's a typical teenager who enjoys video games."I tried the racing game," he said grabbing the steering wheel of a video game.

He also likes sports and being outside. "I like dirt bikes and I like football, but basketball is my favorite sport."

Although he was a bit reserved on this day, Brent is usually outgoing. "Brent is not quiet at all. Usually he's real talkative, however, when Brent has his mind set he is very determined," commented Ashley Gipson with Child Protective Services.

This 13-year-old prefers to be in a calm environment and enjoys doing simple things like organizing and counting. "He has a very low attention span, so for Brent you are going to have to always keep him active.

"Brent enjoys attending school and will need extra help with assignments. He would do best with a patient family willing to give him a lot of one-on-one attention.

"Brent needs a home that can provide him with a lot of consistency and constant routine. He has to be reminded over and over at times about rules and just simple tasks to keep him on target," explained Gipson.

This young man has spent several years in foster care and wants to settle down. "He's tired of being moved. He wants a family that he can call his own that he knows tomorrow he's not going to have to move."

Giving him a sense of security as he enters his teenage years. "He told me he wants a family that's going to love him and accept him. That's his one goal in life is to be adopted and loved!"
