Children Are A Gift: Casey

Children Are A Gift: Casey

TYLER (KYTX) – Like most young boys, Casey likes video games. He also enjoys riding his bike and playing.

"Casey is really laid back. He is easy to get along with," said Case Abernathy, his Child Protective Services Caseworker. "He loves to talk once you get him started and he feels comfortable around you."

This 10-year-old enjoys reading and playing his guitar, but would rather be outside. "He wants a family that is in to hunting and fishing and lives out in the country. He also wants a lot of other siblings and cousins to play with," explained Abernathy.

Casey is hoping for a stable home that will help him reach his goals. He talks of graduating from high school and going on to college. "I want to be a Mechanic when I grow up."

Casey has spent more than three years in foster care and is eager for a more normal childhood. "A real mom, cause my real mom gave-up on me," he said sadly.

Abernathy added, "He wants his own home and his own bed to wake-up in every morning." And he says he wants a family who will be patient and kind.

"The family that y'all give me, I don't care if they are black or white as long as they love me and are nice."

A simple request from a child who deserves to be loved.
