TYLER (KYTX) – Like most young boys, Casey likes video games. He also enjoys riding his bike and playing.
"Casey is really laid back. He is easy to get along with," said Case Abernathy, his Child Protective Services Caseworker. "He loves to talk once you get him started and he feels comfortable around you."
This 9-year-old enjoys reading and playing his guitar but would rather be outside. "He wants a family that is into hunting and fishing and lives out in the country and he said he wants a lot of other siblings and cousins for him to play with," explained Abernathy.
Casey is hoping for a stable home that will help him reach his goals. "I want to be a Mechanic when I grow up." He talks of graduating from high school and going on to college.
Case has spent more than two years in foster care and is eager for a more normal childhood. "A real mom, cause my real mom gave-up on me," he said sadly.
Abernathy added, "He wants his own home and his own bed to wake up in every morning." And his own family who will be patient and kind.
"The family that y'all give me I don't care if they are black or white as long as they love me and are nice and let me be in contact with my NaNa."
Casey still sees his biological grandmother, whom he calls NaNa, and would like to maintain contact saying it's all the family he has left.
