(KYTX) – Walking into Tyler's Marble Slab Creamery Justin's eyes light up at the chance to enjoy his favorite treat.
"I like to have ice cream and play outside," he said looking at all his chilly choices.
"He's just your typical little boy," added Tara Biggers with Child Protective Services.
He's a friendly, energetic 8-year-old who smiles and laughs often. I asked him what kind of sports he likes. He responded, "Baseball, soccer and basketball."
But cars are what he likes best. He quickly rattled off a long list of his favorites, hardly taking a breath in between. "I like Camaros, Mustangs, Dodges, Chevrolet, Corvettes... but the Mustang GT is the best!"
He also likes video games, cartoons and animals. Justin will need a little extra help in school, but tries hard to please others. When asked about the second grade he said, "It's great!"
He followed up by telling me what he wants to be when he grows up. "A scientist because I want to be like Dr. Dofenshmirtz [from the cartoon Phineas and Ferb.]"
Justin is working through a lot of trauma in his young life, but he has a great attitude. "Foster care is great," he said taking a big lick of his ice cream.
"He's made tremendous progress from where he was before," explained Biggers. "Now he's ready for that forever family."
"I would like a loving and caring family," said Justin sincerely.
He would do best as the youngest or only child in a family. "He does really well with older children because they are able to role model for him," said Biggers.
Justin is a sweet boy who needs encouragement, understanding and most of all love. He's just waiting to excel to see what life has to offer. Biggers said, "He's ready to have a forever family to start this new chapter of being a normal kid."
