(KYTX) – Willie and Dixie enjoy playing together. They even do their homework together. "They are very, very close. They look out for each other," said Tara Biggers, their Child Protective Services caseworker.
However the sibling rivalry does come out from time-to-time. "Usually they have a little competition when you are playing games with them together."
These siblings have been in foster care about two years and are ready to be adopted. "Just somebody who's going to be there and be committed to them," said Biggers.
Sitting down to lunch with them and the Chick-fil-A cow, Willie tells me his favorite things to play with are "monster trucks!"
Willie is 5-years-old, very outgoing and in kindergarten. I asked him what he does in school? "Read and learn my ABC's," he tells me with a mouth full of chicken.
"Willie is on target. He's very smart for his age." Biggers goes on to say, "He loves to cuddle, but he loves for you to sit and read with him too."
His big sister, Dixie, is 6-years-old and in the 1st-grade. She enjoys singing, dancing and story time, but can be shy around strangers. "She is quite entertaining once she warms up and gets a chance to know you."
It may take Willie and Dixie some time to trust a new family. They would do best as the youngest children in a family and they will need structure, affection and a lot of love and patience.
These children long to be in a family who will love them and show them affection.
Biggers said, "They are very lovable kids!"
