LINDALE - Some families can't imagine the holidays without their family traditions.
For one East Texas family, giving back to the Salvation Army during the holiday season is their family tradition and has been for 31 years.
A tradition that was started in 1987 with her dad and brother has now carried on with her kids and her brothers kids.
"It means a lot to me to know something my dad started and this thing he kind of had visions of doing is now being carried on through my children and I see them learning from him about giving and generosity," said Katy Payne.
Now, ringing the bell during the holidays is something Katy's kids look forward to.
It's never too late to start a family tradition, and what better tradition, then to give back to an organization that gives to so many others.
