School districts make reporting bullies easier

On National Stop Bullying Day, a new phone system aimed at ending bullying incidents at Lindale ISD is explored.

On the second Wednesday each October, National Stop Bullying Day is celebrated to raise awareness for bullying taking place across the United States.

Beginning in September, school districts across Texas were required to comply with “David’s Law,” which created new rules for reporting off-campus online bullying.

Lori Anderson with Lindale ISD said that the district created a special anonymous phone line for students, parents, and others to call and report incidents.

“A lot of times students don’t give you all of the information you need to get to the bottom of the situation,” Anderson said.
