CHEROKEE CO, TX - From flooded roadways to winds over 100 mph, last nights EF2 tornado left quite a mess in the city of Rusk.
Rusk ISD did not have school on Wednesday. 4 schools did not have power and one campus had minor flooding. Classes should resume Thursday and adjustments will be made to the final exam schedule.
Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari was also hit by the storms.
The popular tourist destination reported some of the animal enclosures suffered damages, and animals escaped. All of the animals were recovered by 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
For Cythnia Soldevila. The tree in her front yard fell down, landing on the roof of her home. Strangers who had been out helping others all day stopped at her house to chop up the tree and remove it from her roof.
She's thankful the house only suffered minor damages.
