UPDATE: TJC students face suspension after shots fired on campus

TYLER - TJC Campus police are conducting an investigation after shots were fired outside a residence hall.

According to TJC, the incident occurred Monday around 11:42 p.m.

TJC said unidentified males came to campus to confront another student outside a dorm.

TJC Campus police immediately responded and secured the scene. Tyler PD was called for assistance.

The unidentified subjects fled the scene.

TJC Campus police determined it was an isolated incident between several males and a female.

No injuries were reported.

TJC has taken immediate action to suspend students involved in the incident. Following further investigation, “TJC will pursue all available actions including enforcement of any violations of school rules and policies as well as full prosecution of any criminal behavior.”
