TJC hosts dental outreach program

TYLER - Tyler Junior College is hosting their "Operation East Texas Dental Outreach" program from now until noon on Friday, August 4 on the first floor of the Rogers Nursing and Health Science building on 1200 E. Fifth St. in Tyler.

This event will provide basic dental services to uninsured individuals, with faculty and students from the Dental Studies and Nursing programs from TJC, other licensed health care providers, as well as dental students from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas participating on a volunteer basis.

All patients must be screened by an onside medical provider before they can receive dental treatment and each patient will be prioritized based on the severity of their condition, according to Carrie Hobbs, TJC's dental studies department chair.

To learn if you are eligible to become a teaching case patient for a dental hygiene student during the fall and spring semesters, please call the TJC Dental Clinic office at 903-510-2342.
