LONGVIEW - Thanksgiving is around the corner and Trinity School of Texas is working to make sure everyone has a meal.
For the past 30 years the school has donated canned food to the Longview Thanksgiving Food Drive. This year they surpassed expectations.
"We usually collect 10,000 cans but this year we had 15,000," Senior Ramsey Albaha says. "So many people do not know where their next meal is coming from, so it's important that we try to help them."
The food drive is Monday and many of the students will be helping. They are giving a part of their Thanksgiving break to serve others.
Each student was asked to bring 25 cans. With a student body of a little more than 300, school officials say they are very proud. The reward for bringing in 25 cans is an entire week of no dress code.
