Troup PD challenges Arp PD for 'No-Shave November'

SMITH COUNTY - According to the Troup Police Department's Facebook page, they are challenging officers from the Arp Police Department to see who can raise the most money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on "No-Shave November".

The officers will commit to not shaving for the entire month of November to promote awareness of childhood cancer and terminal illness.

At the end of the month, all of the donations collected from both Departments will go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

St. Jude's is leading the way people understand, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Families who go to St. Jude's to treat their children never receive a bill from the hospital for treatment, travel, housing or food because they believe that helping their child live is the only worry a family should have.

To start the fundraiser, participating officers from the Troup Police Department will donate the money they would normally spend on shaving and grooming for the month ($1 per day for a total of $30 at the end of the month) to the cause.

If you or anyone you know would like to help the Troup or Arp police departments in their competition visit the Troup Police Department's Facebook Page or the Arp Police Department's Facebook Page.
