Tyler police searching for a suspect after robbing a Family Dollar

TYLER - Saturday night, Tyler police responded to a robbery of a business in the 1000 block of West Bow Street.  

The Family Dollar clerk said the suspect entered the business and demanded money while pointing a handgun.

The clerk described the suspect as a 5’8” to 5’10” male. Weighing approximately 150-160 pounds. He had on black clothing and his face was covered.

A store employee grabbed the suspect from behind and a struggle took place. The suspect broke free and struck the employee with the gun causing injury.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
