Woman receives maximum sentence, child endangerment

CHEROKEE COUNTY - Shonquea Danielle Thirkill was given the maximum sentence of two years in state jail on Thursday after she was found guilty of Endangering a Child.

According to the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office, Ms. Thirkill denied any knowledge or culpability in this case, despite the "overwhelming" evidence against her.

Thirkill was found guilty of having methamphetamine, crack cocaine and marijuana and one large chunk of crack cocaine within easy reach of several children who were staying in her home.
