Longview animal shelter lifting adoptions suspensions Thursday morning

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - An update now on the quarantine at the Humane Society of Northeast Texas in Longview. The director says he's lifting his suspension of adoptions tomorrow, but he needs your help.

The shelter has put down 14 sick dogs this week. They were diagnosed with an upper respiratory virus that is circulating as far north as Upshur County and east into Louisiana.

Director Scott Holloway says he halted adoptions for two days, but the shelter took in 39 dogs Tuesday, and is full of animals tonight.

If you need to bring an animal to the shelter, he asks that you try and wait a few days, to give that pet a better chance at being adopted or rescued.
