LONGVIEW (KYTX) - As the chaotic scene unfolds -- a family tries to hold it all together.
"Family is important to everybody, this will prove to you where your family relations are," says Malinda Weech, mother of the victim.
Just before 2 o'clock on Saturday, police say a man walked into this home off North 3rd Street and began arguing with 39-year old Barbara Hudson before shooting her. She was later pronounced dead.
"Apparently a suspect entered the residence, got in an argument with the victim, shots were fired, at least one. He fled, she was transported to the hospital," says Sargeant Richard Srpuiell with Longview PD.
Barbara's mother and the rest of her family mourn the loss of her daughter, who will leave behind two children.
"We know in our hearts no more, no more stress for her, no more... her kids are gonna miss her desperately. I'm gonna miss her desperately," says Weech.
And she has select words for the shooter.
"As far as the gentleman who did this, I hold no guards against you... because you will deal with your Maker. And he will not deal gently mister."
