Longview felon jailed on drug charges

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A convicted drug felon was arrested again this week, facing two new drug charges.

Police arrested 25-year-old Colby Heath Pruitt, of Longview, during a traffic stop near Jane and Leota streets in east Longview on Monday afternoon. Pruitt was taken into custody for not having a valid driver's license - he has two prior convictions for the same charge.

During inventory of Pruitt's vehicle, officers discovered narcotics.

Pruitt faces charges of possession of less than a gram of one controlled substance, possession of between four grams and 200 grams of another substance, and driving with an invalid license. He posted $8,000 bond and was released from the Gregg County Jail on Tuesday.

Pruitt, who has been arrested twice on public intoxication charges since May 10, also incurred a bond forfeiture charge on a separate drug case in March. He was sentenced to 75 days in jail and released on April 18, according to online records.
