Longview Group Sends Prayers for Kidnapped, Nigerian Girls

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Yu? Youth Resources gathered at Longview High School's Lobo Stadium to help bring these students' attention to the crisis in Nigeria.  Group Founder Laraslum Williams says these students need to know what's happening around the world..

"It really touched my heart because I am a person that reaches out to the schools. When we have kids losing their lives because they want to learn it something we need to show our kids., so they know the advantage they have" - Larasium Williams
Yu? Youth Resources is a group that helps Longview students graduate high school and college. 6th grader Kaylen Tate says the kidnapping has made her look at school differently.
"I think it's very important for me to go to school, and I am very thankful for it." - Katelyn Tate
The group invited community church leaders to come and lead prayers for the girls in Nigeria.  Williams says she wishes the families of the girls were close enough to hear them.
"Even though we are down here in the small corner of East Texas, we just want to send our prayers that these girls come home safely."
