EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- A Longview hospital gets an innovative opportunity to train its surgeons.
The Covidien Mobile Learning Lab pulled into Longview's Good Shepherd Medical Center. The 85 ft. tractor trailer transforms into a 1,200 square ft. training facility.
It includes six operating room stations with cutting edge minimally invasive surgical devices.
"We want our surgeons and staff to feel comfortable with the latest and greatest technology," Good Shepherd Medical Center Vice President of Operations Ron Short said. "We want to be able to provide that to the community and to the patients that entrust their care to us."
The arrival of the mobile unit is the kickoff of Good Shepherd's surgeon and staff training program.
