Longview ISD trains employees for emergency situations

(KYTX) - Principals and security leaders at Longview Independent School District are spending two days this week rehearsing what to do in an emergency.

Principals from every LISD campus, plus personnel from new Diana and Spring Hill schools, met today at Longview's Education Support Center.
They evaluated how they will lead their staff and students during any emergency.

"We're trying to take those plans and actually practice. This morning, we're doing the incident command training, which allows us to know as a principal or the director of a campus the things that need to be done in case of any type of emergency," says Dr. Jody Clements, Longview ISD Assistant Superintendent

Training continues Wednesday for elementary, middle and high school principals.
