Longview man arrest

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, Longview police arrested 33-year-old Eric Lamothe Hill, after he was caught by officers kicking a woman who was lying on the ground in the fetal position, according to Gregg County court records.

Officers said the woman, who is the mother of Hill's one-month-old child, had blood running down her face and a cut on her lip from when Hill punched her to the ground outside a bikini bar in the 1300 block of East Marshall Avenue, police said.

Hill posted $2,500 bond Saturday and was released from the Gregg County Jail, but according to police records, he was arrested again shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the woman's home in the 1500 block of East Young Street. Police said Hill went to the victim's apartment and locked himself inside with her. A witness told police she could see Hill striking the woman with a closed fist repeatedly about her face and head, according to court records.

Hill had been issued a criminal trespass warning at that address in January by the property manager, police said.

Hill is now held in the Gregg County Jail on $177,500 bond, charged with assault/family violence, continuous assault-family violence, criminal trespass and burglary of a habitation. Hill already faced up to 20 years in prison if convicted on a prior burglary arrest.
