Longview man gets 30 years in March 2012 break-in, shooting

Released by Gregg County District Attorney's Office

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Today, Brian Andrew Davis was sentenced by Judge David Brabham of the 188th District Court to 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

The sentence carried with it an affirmative finding of a deadly weapon, which means he must serve at least 15 years before he is eligible for parole.

Davis pled guilty to burglary of a habitation and aggravated assault on May 7, and the sentencing hearing had been reset for today.

Davis was convicted of a burglary that occurred March 10, 2012, on Delmar Street in Longview.  The burglary was interrupted by a neighbor and the neighbor and Davis exchanged gunfire.  Davis was struck in the leg. Officers with the Longview Police Department located Davis a short distance from the residence.

The case was prosecuted by Gregg County Assistant District Attorney's Tanya Reed and Stacey Brownlee. Davis was represented by attorney John W. Moore.
