LONGVIEW (KYTX)- A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Longview was taken to the hospital with what police called life-threatening injures.
According to Longview police spokeswoman Debra Stiles tells CBS 19, it
happened Wednesday afternoon east of the intersection of Spur 63 and Marshall
Avenue which is also known as Highway 80.
Stiles said the pedestrian was struck by a Ford pickup and was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center and hospitalized in critical condition.
The pedestrian's name and sex have not been released and police could not tell either. The paramedics arrived so fast there was a not chance to know the sex.
The pedestrian ran across the road and the driver of the Ford pick-up never saw the pedestrian.
The driver will not receive a ticket because the pedestrian did not use a legal crosswalk.
Police remind pedestrian's to use a marked crosswalk when crossing the street.
