Longview Police arrest 4 suspects in two separate robberies

Longview Police Department:

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - On July 18, 2013 at 5:25 p.m., Officers were dispatched to Broughton Park in the 800 Block of Martin Luther King Blvd for a Fight in Progress. When Officers arrived they located a victim that had been assaulted and robbed by several black males. The victim stated the black males that robbed him displayed guns during the robbery. The victim was able to identify the suspects. Two of the suspects were located near the park and another suspect was found hiding inside a slide at the park.

The suspects were identified as Tony Nelson 18 and Bron Quivius Gray 17, both of Longview. A third juvenile suspect was also detained and taken to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention facility. Nelson was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon in a Weapon Free Zone. Gray was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon in a Weapon Free Zone. Four guns were recovered from the scene.

In an unrelated case at 11:29 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a Robbery in the 1900 Block of East Marshall Avenue. When officers arrived, they were told that an unknown black male had come into the store. The suspect came up behind the clerk, lunged at her when she opened the cash register drawer, and grabbed the register taking money as he ran out the door of the store.

The suspect, later identified a Eric Antonio Howard 48 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested a short time later at a motel near the store. Howard was charged with Robbery and transported to the Gregg County jail without further incident.
