Longview woman accused of scalding husband

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Police say a Longview woman burned her husband by throwing hot water on him Saturday morning.

According to court records, 20-year-old Jazmine Lashay Jackson caused pain and serious bodily injury to her husband, Larry Pleasant Jr., at a residence in the 200 block of South Harrison Street. Police records identified Jackson and Pleasant as "boyfriend and girlfriend," but Gregg County court records show that the couple obtained a marriage license in January 2012.

Longview police officers said they saw that portions of Pleasant's skin and burned off. He was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center, where he was treated and released Saturday.

Jackson was released from the Gregg County Jail on $5,000 bond Sunday. She is charged with aggravated assault/family violence causing seriously bodily injury, a second degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison if she is indicted and convicted.

Jackson has a two-month-old infant with the victim and another four-year-old child, according to court records.
