Lufkin business owner robbed at knifepoint, truck taken

LUFKIN (KYTX) - A Lufkin business owner has her truck stolen after being robbed by knifepoint in the 700 block of Raguet Monday.

At approximately 8:33 p.m., Lufkin Police Department Officers were dispatched to a North Lufkin business at 707 N. Raguet (Los Regios) in response to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred.

The owner, Beatrice Hernandez of Corrigan, reported that a light skin male (possibly Hispanic) with a black bandanna type material over his nose and mouth, entered through the unlocked back door of the business brandishing a large knife and demanding money.

Hernandez reported the man pushed her into the bathroom and she locked the door from inside. When she heard the suspect leave out the back door, she came out of the bathroom to find the contents of her purse had been emptied, and when she walked outside found that her truck, a white 2000 Dodge Dakota, had been stolen.

No arrests have been made and the case is being investigated by detectives.
