EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Luminant Energy is responding to concerns raised by environmental groups over plans to expand its mines near Tatum.
Groups like the Sierra Club tell us, with Luminant saddled with debt, they're worried if the plant closes taxpayers would have to foot the bill to try and restore the land.
Luminant tells CBS 19 it has no plans to shut down its plants or mines.
It also maintains it's complied with all requirements of the Clean Air Act as it faces a lawsuit by the US Department of Justice.
