Making duct tape wallets at the Tyler Public Library

The Tyler Public Library's summer reading club is still looking for children and teens who want to have fun and stay cool this summer.

They're not just reading, though. On Thursday they were making duct tape wallets.

The teens started with strips of plain duct tape to build the basic shape and used colored tapes to decorate. With a little help they knew exactly what to do.

"I'm just trying to make it longer," Tal Carson said as she assembled her wallet. "You have to put duct tape on this side and on this side so it will be kind of even. And then I'm going to put one right here so it won't be sticky and one here."

On Friday the Tyler Public Library is hosting the Southwest Dairy Farmers' mobile dairy classroom. The event will be free.
