Man accused of attacking son with frying pan back in jail

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Thomas Anthony Beason is back in jail, after a Rusk County judge raised his bond.

Beason, 50, of Longview, was arrested July 24 and booked into the Rusk County Jail on $20,000 bond. Investigators said Beason hit his son, 27-year-old Tommy Dale Beason, with a frying pan and claimed the handle broke off and his son ended up falling on it getting stabbed. The incident occurred on CR 2123 near Elderville.

Beason was later released on bond, but a judge decided to raise his bond to $50,000 and issued a new warrant for his arrest, according to the Rusk County District Attorney's Office. Beason was arrested Monday evening on U.S. 80 in Longview during a traffic stop by local police.

He remains in the Gregg County Jail on $50,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
