Man arrested for taking improper pictures leads to child pornography arrest

GUN BARREL CITY (KYTX) - A Henderson County man is in jail after police say he snapped pictures under a woman's dress Tuesday at the Walmart in Gun Barrel City. Police said the suspect is in jail and that his arrest led to another charge of child pornography.

A simple stroll down the grocery aisle for one Gun Barrel City woman turned into something bad, when Christopher Pomroy was caught on surveillance video following her and squatting next to the woman, and allegedly taking a photo under the woman's dress.

"An unknown man that she didn't' know took a picture of her under her dress and she saw the flash of the camera," said Gun Barrel City Patrol officer Justin Keahey.

The victim wanted to keep her identity concealed. Meantime, Tammy Grant, who said she's known the suspect for years is in shock of the accusations.

"It's very scary because I would have never imagined that with Chris," said Grant.

Officer Keahey said once the victim realized what was happening, she confronted Pomroy and even snapped a picture of him. Keahey said, taking a picture was good for locating Pomroy, but not the safest route to go.

"I wouldn't recommend it cause he may have snapped or hurt her."

He said the best thing to do is contact police, tell employees and management. Also, be sure to pay attention to what people are doing around you.

Pomroy is facing charges of possession of child pornography in Henderson county.

Gun Barrel police say he's also facing charges of improper photography and visual recording in Denton county.
