Man killed trying to save woman had 'servant's heart'

We are learning more today about Jason Albright, one of two men who were killed trying to rescue a woman from a wrecked car Friday.

Those who knew the 33-year-old Tylerite are saying he was truly a good sumatarian in many ways.

Joining us is Faith Harper from our news partners at the Tyler paper.

 Faith what happened Friday night?

Jason and another man were traveling on Highway 31 east of Tyler when they were  struck from behind. The young woman driving the other car was pinned in.

They jumped out to help the woman and then were struck by another car and killed.

What did you find out about Albright?

He loved people – especially children.

His passion was serving in Christian ministries that work with children -- such as Sky Ranch.

What are people saying about him?

They are telling me he had a servant's heart.

They say he would always do anything for someone in need and that they are not surprised at all that he died helping others.

Albright leaves behind a wife and five-month-old daughter. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grace Community Church.  A fund has also been set at Region's Bank to help his family.

You can read Faith's story in tomorrow's Tyler paper.
