Man robs taxi cab driver in parking lot

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler police are searching for a man who they say robbed a taxi driver at gun point.

Around 12:45 Monday morning, Tyler Police responded to 3900 Troup Hwy. on a report of a robbery of an individual. Upon arrival it was determined that the victim was a taxi driver for Tyler Cab. The victim advised that he had just purchased food at the Taco Bell at that location. He drove next door to the Time It lube and parked behind the building to eat his lunch. While there he stated he was approached by a black male subject. The suspect produced a hand gun and forced the victim out of his vehicle. He then demanded the victims property.

After taking the property the suspect took the keys to the cab and fled the area west on Lindbergh. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as black male in his mid-20's, 5'08 170lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue and white bandana around his neck, a tight blue shirt and blue jean shorts. He displayed a chrome semi-auto pistol with black grips.
