Man takes selfie during bull-run festival in Spain

(USA TODAY) - During the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain, one man decided it was a good idea to take a selfie among the bulls while running.

The participant could be slapped with a fine of €3,000 or $4,100 in U.S. dollars for his risky move on July 11, the Local reports.

Regional authorities passed a bylaw this year to discourage people from using devices to take photos or videos during the running of the bulls, according to the largest English-language news network in Europe.

If anyone does seriously disturb the encierro and put other people's lives in danger by filming or taking pictures while running with the bulls, they will have to pay €3,000The event has seen 15 people killed since 1911, when record keeping began. The most recent death happened five years ago.

The days-long festival, famously written about in Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises, attracts big crowds and involves heavy partying.
