Marshall argument turns into fatal shooting

MARSHALL (KYTX) - The Marshall Police Department received a 911 call at 12:21 a.m. on 04/14/2012 advising of a shooting in the 1000 block of Alvin Street in Marshall, TX. MPD Officers responded and located a female that was unresponsive. Marshall Fire and Ambulance also responded and transported the female, later identified as Ronnetta Latisha Patterson, DOB 06/13/1978 to Good Shepherd Medical Center- Marshall where the she later died of her injuries.

An autopsy was ordered by Harrison County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Judge Kenneth Alford to determine an exact cause of death.

MPD Detectives and Crime Scene Unit, with the assistance of the Harrison County District Attorney Coke Solomon and his staff, began their investigation into the incident. Preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that two other individuals were involved in an argument which escalated to the point in which one individual produced a weapon which was later fired striking the victim.

With the cooperation of several witnesses, MPD Detectives were able to quickly identify a possible suspect.

Andre Dewayne McCall DOB 04/05/1975 of Marshall was later located and detained. McCall was subsequently arrested on a warrant for Murder, issued by Harrison County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Judge Kenneth Alford.

McCall was transported to the Harrison County Jail awaiting arraignment.
