Meningitis numbers still growing

(KYTX) - As the number of meningitis infections continues to rise, new questions are emerging about the company responsible.

According to a CNN report, the deaths linked to the meningitis outbreak are not the first caused by drugs made by the New England Compounding Center.

Ten years ago a man from New York died after receiving an injection from the NECC that was contaminated with bacterial meningitis as well.

The company was not shut down since they abided by FDA guidelines to fix the problem.

Currently 14 people have died and close to 14,000 people have been exposed.
