TYLER (KYTX) - Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
If you haven't, now is the perfect time to head down to Harvey Hall Convention Center in Tyler.
CBS 19's Anthony Austin went to the Junior League of Tyler's annual "Mistletoe and Magic." He explains how the unique shopping experience is helping out people in the community.
"The style show, the brunch, everything is just awesome," said Glenda Jones.
Glenda Jones drove all the way from Rockwall to shop at this year's "Mistleteaux and Magic."
"I get some great ideas for decorating the tree and different things," said Jones.
This year's theme is straight from Jackson Square in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"You name it, we got something out here you'll like," said Ginger Haberle.
It was the idea of this year's chairwoman, Ginger Haberle. She wanted to bring a little bit of her hometown to Tyler. But, there's also a theme of Thanksgiving to this grand event.
"Everything we make here goes right back into Smith County. Different agencies that need both financial help and volunteer support," said Haberle.
The Bethesda Health Clinic provides medical care for the working uninsured of East Texas. Most of the clinic's dental equipment was purchased by the Junior League of Tyler.
"We actually have a junior league volunteer right now in our pharmacy," said Angie Butterfield.
Bethesda is one of 28 non-profit agencies where Junior League of Tyler members donate money and time. The clinic will receive a share of the $300,000 to $400,000 raised from Mistletoe and Magic.
