A rare July cold front is dropping through East Texas this morning, triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly along and south of I-20. 40% chance of scattered showers/thunderstorms this morning with skies becoming partly cloudy in the wake of the system this afternoon. Highs today should only reach 90. It will be cooler tonight. Lows near 64 by Wednesday morning.
Today's front will bow back up across East Texas tomorrow afternoon/evening as a warm front, bringing an increased chance for afternoon/evening showers & thunderstorms Wednesday. Highs near 89. A second cold front will bring a 60% chance of rain/t-storms to the region Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible with this system along with a slight chance of severe weather. Highs Thursday near 86. Rain should taper off by Friday evening across E TX. Highs Fri should only reach 87.
